Solution is an animal antibiotic that is administered via drinking water and  has excellent action against dysentery, mycoplasma and other bacteria, including staphylococcus. Brand name of this antibiotic solution is Denagard.

Tiamulin is a pleuromutilin antibiotic drug that is used in veterinary medicine particularly for pigs and poultry. A benefit of using Tiamulin is that it’s only used in veterinary medicine, eliminating concerns that arise when you are treating animals with antibiotics that are also used for humans.

Product is labeled for Swine in the USA. Consult your veterinarian for species specific dosing.

Always use plastic waterers only when administering Tiamulin and change daily.

This product must be measured accurately for animals to accept its addition to their drinking water. If Tiamulin solution is not dosed correctly it is very bitter and they will not drink sufficient water, even possibly refuse to drink the water at all. Please carefully follow directions for use. No additives to make the medication palatable are needed if used correctly!  We only use brand name solution for better acceptance by the animals.

Through personal experience with our flocks we have found that generic tiamulin products have a very off putting and bitter taste the animals often won’t accept even when mixed correctly. When you use the brand name product and mix it correctly, you will find it is readily accepted by all the animals being treated.
