Pantex Cocci-Geel – Why we like it:

Pantex Cocci-Geel uses a combination of medications, vitamins and amino acids to treat coccidiosis in birds. Birds have to battle multiple strains of cocci in their lifetime but they are most susceptible when they are young and still growing. This product contains the most used coccidiostat, amprolium, combined with the anti-protozoal ronidazole, and supportive vitamins and amino acids for much improved outcomes. Using other vitamin mixes while treating birds for cocci is often problematic because they can contain thiamine, amprolium is a thiamine blocker so a vitamin supplement with thiamine makes it difficult for amprolium to do its job. With this product your birds are well supported while being treated.

Coccidiosis and your birds:

Coccidiosis is common in young birds and also can affect older birds when their immune system is compromised. Cocci is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract of animals caused by coccidian protozoa. There are numerous strains of this protozoa and fast treatment is necessary for good outcomes.

Damage to the intestinal tract from coccidiosis can lead to compromised digestion and even death. Coccidiosis can reoccur due to exposure to a different strain than the precious infection or not properly medicating to cover the entire lifecycle of the organism. The most common treatment for coccidiosis is Amprolium, a coccidiostat, which is a thiamine uptake inhibitor. Cocci feeds on thiamine so this limits their food source, Amprolium, despite being the most used coccidiostat has only moderate efficacy.

When treating birds for coccidiosis we highly recommend not using a multivitamin with thiamine, especially if only using amprolium. Due to the moderate efficacy of amprolium we recommend using other treatment options such as this medication.

The vitamins and minerals in Cocci-Geel do not hinder the treatment of coccidiosis, they do help support your bird during its time of stress, which is why we find this product to be one of the best first line treatments around.

COCCI-GEEL has high efficacy against trichomoniasis, hexamitiasis and coccidiosis. These protozoa quite often appear during the breeding season and cause latent and sub-clinical infections in pigeons. To improve condition of infected birds, COCCI-GEEL also contains a strong dose of vitamins, amino acids and trace element.

Dosage and administration:

Orally via the drinking water. The general dose is 8 gram per 2 litres of drinking water.

Treat during 5 consecutive days.

Store at 15-25 °C in a dry place, away from children.
