DAC Broomhexine – Why We Like It:

DAC Broomhexine is a water soluble powder that is added to birds drinking water. Broomhexine contains the mucolytic bromhexine which is used to break up viscous or excessive mucus that can cause respiratory difficulties. Bromehexine is non curative of infection. If your bird has a respiratory infection they also need treatment with an antibiotic product appropriate to their condition and species. We have a selection of antibiotic products for respiratory infection treatment that can be used in combination with this medication. Use of this product can increase comfort of your bird(s), and their ease of breathing, while being treated for respiratory infection, improving outcomes.

Product is labeled for use in pigeons. Consult a veterinarian for questions related to species specific dosing.

Broomhexine Mucus dissolver for treating mucus in the upper respiratory system. This product also supports the effectiveness of other DAC ornithosis products and canker products when mixed equally.

Broomhexine is a mucolytic to be used as an adjunctive therapy. It has no activity against bacterial, viral or other causes of respiratory disease. Birds displaying symptoms of respiratory disease may deteriorate rapidly and need to be examined by a vet. Treatment with antibiotics is most often necessary for treatment. In most cases, this product may be combined if necessary with other DAC medicines.

This veterinary medicine is marketed in accordance with the small animal exemption scheme.

Note: Broomhexine may not be combined with Furaltadone, FMT All-Round Mix or Respiratory Red Mix.

Directions for use:

Mix 5g of Broomhexine powder in 1 liter of drinking water, or as vet prescribes.

For animal use only. Not for animals intended to produce food for human consumption. Avoid contact of medicine with your hands.

Storage:

Store dry, out of reach of direct sunlight, between 0°-30° Celsius (32°-86°F). Keep out of reach of children.
